The 737 and Bus feel like properly big airplanesā200 pax is nothing to sneeze atābut a 777 preflight feels like readying a mega yacht for a voyage on the high seas. Itās the first airplane Iāve flown that feels like a āship.ā And it almost seems alive, with (2/27)

The two centre screens are electronically split into four. The upper two give information such as systems on left and anomalies on right. Lower are used to give the aircraft information from the pilots, such as route, weather, speeds, performance details, etc. #aviation

Interesting things to say to someone whose two children both suffered myocarditis after taking a "safe" and "effective" medicine that doesn't provide immunity or stop transmission and carries severe adverse event and fatality risk.

The R1 was a secretive ISTAR aircraft - its role and capabilities largely remain classified . The aircraft was still very capable when it retired, and it was replaced, ironically, by the Boeing Rivet Joint salvaged from the desert boneyard!

A little #InsideBaseball as to how #United328ās engine problem was handled, from a #B777ās #pilot point of view.. Although startling for both #flightcrew and passengers, an engine issue such as this one is something we constantly train and plan for..
As I mentioned on previous tweet, the aircraft handling aspect of the situation is quite normal in that the jet would have, by this point in the flight, most likely have been on autopilot, but if not, the Thrust Asymmetry Compensation (TAC) system works the same way..
In simple terms, the system compares engine parameters, and when it detects that one engineās rotational velocity is higher than the other by a specific percentage, it applies rudder trim inputs to compensate for what it interprets as disimilar thrust..

[THREAD] : While other kids in Lusoi Primary School in Nyeri played regular games, Samuel Mwaura Muthinji spent his time creating aircraft models from iron sheets. Muthinji was fascinated by how huge heavy metallic objects floated in the air and moved from one point to another.
His enchantment for flying came at a tender age and he then developed an utmost adoration for flying. After completing his primary school in Nyeri, Muthinji enrolled in Moi Forces Academy near the Moi Air Base in the Eastleigh suburb for his secondary education.
Everyday, when coming out of class heading to the dormitory, Muthinji observed the landing of the aircraft at the nearby Air Base. He made a vow to his peers that one day one time he will become a pilot.
Completely random career aspirations you wouldnāt know I have in the back of my mind: 1) Commerical Airline #Pilot, cause Iāve yet to hear a female pilot on any āļø Iāve ever been on. Probably because only 5.8% of the worldās pilots are female. The industry also needs more pilots.
