House of Commons has just voted 351-276 with the gov to reject Lords am 1B providing for statutory parliamentary scrutiny of trade agreements beyond what's in current CRAG Act. Q now is, when #TradeBill goes back to HoL, whether they put an am on this in for 3rd time #pingpong
& now HoC has just voted 318-303 with gov to reject Lords ams 2B & 3B on crimes vs humanity/#genocide & agree gov-backed amendment in lieu (the Neill et al amendment) #TradeBill #pingpong 2/
& HoC has voted 363-267 to reject the final Lords amendment, 6B, & agree the gov amendments in lieu. So proceedings on the #TradeBill are done in the Commons for the day, with the House agreeing with the gov on all Qs. Bill now goes back to Lords again #pingpong 3/3

My MP @RobertLargan has made public his desire for his whole voting record to be recognised and not just, say, his votes on opposition day motions.

On Tuesday, he voted 9 times on amendments to the #TradeBill.

At his own request, let's take a look..
Amendment 1: To give parliament and the devolved nations a role in the scrutiny and approval of trade agreements.

Mr Largan voted against this.

11 Tory MPs rebelled against this removal of their own powers.

Mr Largan did not.

Amendment 2: to assess the human rights violations of countries with which we have or are contemplating forming trade agreements.

Mr Largan voted against this.

(1/9) After 18 votes & 20 hours of scrutiny in the #TradeBill Comittee stage it’s clear @trussliz & her Ministers want to minimise the scrutiny of Trade Agreements. .@EmilyThornberry .@Bill_Esterson .@charlotte2153 .@PutneyFleur .@MattWestern_
(2/9) Ministers have ditched commitments to give Select Committees access to negotiators & critical information in order to stay "studiously vague" as one witness put it.
(3/9) There are now real concerns a number of key ‘continuity’ trade agreements notably Japan, Canada & Turkey won’t be in place by 31st December putting at risk vital export orders, jobs & businesses.

OI!! @LiamFox, STOP LYING!!
A Northern Irish MP just pointed out that the new #TradeBill will create a border in Northern Ireland. Fox said that it included a proposal to avoid that. Yeah, but Jacob Rees-Mogg's amendment makes it impossible for the EU to accept it!!!!
Explanation:
#TradeBill had a customs arrangement whereby the UK would collect tariffs on behalf of the EU so there wouldn't need to be a hard border in Northern Ireland thus protecting the Good Friday Agreement. The Mogg amendment says the EU must do it for the UK too or no deal
The EU has already said no to that. So Jacob Rees-Mogg and his ERG extremists have just put a poisoned pill in the #TradeBill which not only pushes us towards No Deal, but threatens to rip up the Good Friday Agreement.
