Nice that New Zealand cricketers are nice. But please remember that they are the champions because they play intense hardcore high quality smart cricket. Don't let the niceness distract you from what a great cricket team that is. Not every captain has to be steve waugh nasty.

And it's really really astonishing that a nation of less than 5 million has done this against a nation of 1.3 billion which did nothing wrong in the whole test match. India brought their best. New Zealand's best was just better!

For me, @BLACKCAPS winning the WTC is one of the greatest sporting triumphs of all time. Especially after the last 2 world cups. There will be books written and movies made about Kane Williamson and gang.

The problem with this "match ka mujrim" culture in India is that now that #WTCFinal is over, they have to find someone to blame for India not winning. But there is no mujrim. India played brilliantly. New Zealand just played better. But cable news demands mujrims. Yuck.

It seems to stun many Indians that you can actually lose without doing anything wrong.

I really hope this commercial need to blame someone for a loss to create tv content doesn't obsess over the selection decisions. Because Virat is right. This was the best XI. I don't think the result would change with Siraj.

I remember chatting about this with @nameshiv in one of our zoom sessions. How this historically amazing golden age of test cricket is also emotionally exhausting for someone who is really into test cricket. No sport keeps you on the tenterhooks for 5 straight days.

At the end of every india test series in the last 4-5 years, I've been feeling so emotionally exhausted that I can't even imagine what the players are going through in terms of mental health. If you follow cricket, you know what I mean. This era is amazing but exhausting 1

Both in Trinidad and Antigua, I really thought I'd get into a fist fight with these bros whose only idea of cricket is covering themselves in indian regalia and screaming "India! India!" or "Sachin! Sachin!"

At any other time in test cricket history, you'd look at this scoreline going into the final day of a rain hit test match and think, definitely a draw. But we are living in the golden age of test cricket. All 4 results still possible!

My biggest complaint about the 2019 ICC World Cup final was the ad hoc tie-breaker. There's nothing wrong with sharing a title when both teams are so good. India and Sri Lanka did it in a Champion's Trophy. ENG & NZ could have.
And if this test is a draw, cool!

A tense draw is one of those things that makes test cricket this special eclectic sport. It's the most perfect metaphor sports can offer for our lives. That many times, no one wins, no one loses, despite trying their hardest. If #WTCFinal ends like that, it's a great thing!
