2. Sudden onset loss of vision on one half (left or right)- called homonymous hemianopia- usually caused by an infarct (clot) of occipital lobe of brain.
3. Inability to see on outer aspects of visual field (temporal visual field loss)- usually caused by pituitary tumor.

4. Drooping of one or both eyelids- called ptosis, usually caused by myasthenia gravis or third cranial nerve palsy.

2. The incidence of myopia has been gradually increasing, possibly because children have been spending more time watching screens of computers and smartphones from very close (distance).
3. The incidence of myopia has further increased during COVID 19 pandemic, possibly because screen time further increased during the pandemic (for online classes as well as for recreation/leisure time activities).
1/ XBB.1.5 has a much stronger ability to infect people, binding stronger to ACE-2 receptors. We have these in our nose,& throat but also in our eyes & ears.
COVID as been known to infect through the eyes but its been fairly rare. XBB.1.5 will likely increase the odds.

2/ Pink eye symptoms will likely be a COVID infection for the next month or two, at least. There is a good chance it will be the XBB.1.5 variant. Searches for Conjunctivitis & Pinkeye are on the rise, as expected. Most people won't make the connection to COVID but now you know. 
3/ An early study, "Our study found that the average duration of conjunctival congestion was 5.9 ± 4.5 days (mean [SD]), ranging from two to twenty-four days"

1. I was seeing the last patient, on what had been a busy Monday. While counselling the patient's attendant (aged 45), I noticed that her left eye was smaller than the right.

2. On enquiry, she confirmed that her eyes were of equal size in mornings, but left eye became smaller as the day progressed. This was the case for the past 4-5 months. She had no other issues. This had been noted by her family members and friends too. An eye check up was normal.
3. I discussed with her that this could be a sign of #myasthenia gravis (MG) and asked for investigations. Repetitive nerve stimulation was normal. However, acetylcholine receptor antibody was high (8; normal value<0.25). The diagnosis of MG was confirmed. CT chest was normal.

What to do:
1. If poison is on the #skin or clothes;
- quickly & carefully remove victim's clothes
- pour large amounts of #water over the skin for 15 minutes
- wash skin thoroughly many times with soap & water
- move to nearest hospital!
