This week the #HudumaBill2021 is in Parliament for its 2nd reading

The Bill is proposing the largest changes to Kenya’s ID system since independence. What exactly does that mean for you?

Huduma Bill 2021: A Thread 🧵
@MzalendoWatch @KaranjaMatindi @David1Mutai @thekhrc @MyKenyaLaw @klrcKE @nisisikenya @TheYouthCafe @Haki_na_Sheria @Olez #HudumaBill2021 would become the single law supporting the issuance of birth certificates, ID cards, passports, and death certificates - as well as Huduma Namba

The existing laws for these processes would all be repealed

Dear GoK

We Kenyans multi-task every day. We endure abuse from bosses, we go to manage CBC homework with the kids. Ati you cant serve us because we have so many documents and you are so stupid that you can only manage with one #hudumanamba?

Kuweni serious.
First of all, is #hudumanamba going to give us services GoK is withdrawing from? You privatized hospitals and universities. You are shipping trained Kenyans to work abroad. You're always telling as "pirate sector" nyef nyef, we're even wondering what a government is for.
You're not hiring teachers, you're torturing the few we have with paperwork, you gave us a junk promise that laptops would teach children, and those machines are useless.

You are withdrawing from providing services but telling us that #hudumanamba will ease service delivery?

There is social democracy, and liberal democracy.

In social democracy, people actually participate in the decisions that affect them. Liberal democracy is where the people with power and money rule but provide rituals like elections to perform public consent. #Lindakatiba
What is amazing about #BBIreport is the determination to perform public consent even when the public doesn't agree. That's more worrying than the rigging of processes like signatures and referendums. Because what politicians are doing is showing us the finger. #lindakatiba
This #BBIfraud thing isn't just about the law. It's about our soul. It's about crushing us so that we don't have a leg to stand on.

That's why if the elites push this thing through, we should tell them it's theirs and we have no obligation to obey it. #lindakatiba

Martin cooper, former Motorolla Vice president is regarded as the father of cell phones. He made the first call in 1973 with Dynatac 800x phone which weighed 1kg.

Ever taken a moment to think of how this world would look like without this innovation?
Cell phone has undergone a series of evolution ever since its innovation and fare to say, each evolution comes out with an improved future something which farmers and everyone else embraces.
The first sms was sent in 1992 by neil papwprth a developer through @VodafoneUK to richard a company Dr at a Christmas party.
The first cell phone took 10hours to fully charge and would last for 35 minutes and it costed 3995$. Remember, it weighed 1kg

The #HudumaNamba Case Appeal: A Thread

In January, the High Court stopped the implementation of #NIIMS

The government can only move on #HudumaNamba *after* a comprehensive regulatory framework is in place to address exclusion & data privacy Image
The court was clear: even processing and using the data collected needed the regulatory framework first

It's not yet in place

(Yet PS Kibicho said millions of #HudumaNamba records have been cleaned & matched - a clear violation) Image
The #HudumaNamba judgement highlights risks to #privacy, data protection, and inclusion & struck out use of DNA & GPS - a significant win for the rights of all Kenyans

But other aspects of the judgement must be challenged to ensure stronger #humanrights protections

.@JerotichSeii this is a history of the politicians using public participation to sneek in their personal agenda.

The Universities Act was amended by Matiangi by having a party in a hotel. Image
For #hudumanamba, the government performed a joke of public participation where even the members of the public called them out.

And they convened the meeting away from CBD to limit the people who could attend.
The other way in which politicians have bulldozed #bbireport is through intellectual and emotional abuse. They tell us that we don't read, we should not discuss documents before they're released, they limit us to the text and refuse to discuss context, etc wandianjoya.com/blog/ask-no-qu…

Just because #hudumanamba is digital, don't imagine that this is the first time when Western racist capitalism is putting a number to black bodies. They did it when they enslaved Africans in the Americas. They are just changing the mode of data collection.
What makes data necessary is the huge parasitic class that needs to make money from the work of others without working. How do you extract labor from people? By making sure there there is an infrastructure that counts and quantifies everything they do. #hudumanamba
What #hudumanamba aims at is to strangle us to do what the government wants. Refusing means that you can't get services and you will most likely go to jail to give prison labor by force. That is the definition of enslavement.

I don't know how open minded you all are, but when they lied #HudumaNamba meant Huduma Bora, I imagined they were gonna give us a platform with All Services, Compliant, Efficient & Transparent. Here is a concept of what my lazy ass thought HudumaNamba would be #Ikokazi Citizen TV ImageImageImageImage
I imagined a platform (ussd, app, PWA) that would protect Kenyans from conmen & cartels. Car dealers, greenhouse farming, real estate, saccos are awash with conmen preying on Kenyans. A Public Contracts Management system would spell doom for the conmen. Goldenscape #ikokazi ImageImageImageImage
e.g Goldenscape, with Public contracts, investors sign their contracts on the Huduma app, all documents are available on their profile. Investors can file complaints from the platform & attach documents. No need walking around with those brown envelopes & long lines at DCI ImageImageImageImage

We need a movement to change Kenya. Not a party, not an institution, but a movement of people choosing to do life differently from what the state, the church and the media demand and manipulate us to do.

Because autocracy has now captured our institutions.
Kenya is an autocratic state. Idi Amin of the 70s is Muigai of the 21st century.

The only difference is that Muigai doesn't always need the cops to destroy us. He just keeps pushing our buttons, that we destroy ourselves on his behalf.
Muigai has penetrated our minds and souls with a junk curriculum, a tyrannical business sector, #hudumanamba and #BBIreport, so that we do the work for him of destroying ourselves so that there is nobody or nobody strong enough to resist him. #BBINonsense

Let me remind Kenyans that the separation between politics and development is a colonial divide.

The colonial administration divided the two to make African nationalists appear like people who just make noise and dont care for the people at all.

The devil is in the details.
The colonial administration believed that the purpose of colonialism was to "develop" Kenya and rescue us natives from backwardness by bringing us into global capitalism as wage laborers or resource harvestors and producers.
So colonialists divided Kenya into the urban & settler areas on one hand, and tribal reserves on the other.

They allowed wage labor on settler farms and in the cities, but used the provincial administration to prevent any political activity in the reserves.

I've committed myself to reading more on the economic history of Kenya.

Interesting facts I discovered.
The kipande system was a badge of slavery used to track labor supply and tax people for merely existing. Once someone was registered on the kipande system, they could not be deregistered. If they deserted anemployer, they could be returned by force.

Kipande entrenched low wages.
Because kipande also meant the ability to tax everyone and by demanding taxes, forcing people to work in bad employment for slave wages. And if they escaped from the employer, you returned them to the employer.

If it sounds familiar, that is what #hudumanamba is all about.

Western barbarity, self proclaimed civilization, is the only culture in which economic debt never ends. All other societies have a form of the Jubilee, where debts are cancelled.

But ironically in Kenya, it is the ICC self-named Jubilee Party that has put us into unending debt.
#BBIReport is going to make us further indebted to Muigai himself. Someone told me that the point of BBI is about making counties more accessible to exploitation by his Majesty in Nairobi. Hence #hudumanamba.
And the West has an interest in power being centralized because Muigai can be the sole home guard they deal with, and his unpopularity will make him more dependent on the West for weapons to shoot us down with.
