Even #mild #COVID #infection increases risk of #blood #clots and #death

A study in the UK found that mild (non-hospitalized) infections led to a 2.7x higher risk of blood clots and 10.2x higher risk of death compared to controls ( heart.bmj.com/node/174901.fu… ). H/T: @LauraMiers 🧵1/ Chart showing hazard ratio of mortality and various cardiova
The study looked at 17,871 COVID-19 cases in the UK between March 2020 and March 2021. People hospitalized *for* COVID-19 were at even higher risk:

17.5x = Stroke

Plain text:

#Children and/or #teenagers are not the 'drivers' of the 'infections'. Not even day care centers or schools.

The drivers of the #infections, currently #RSV, #influenza and #corona #SARSCoV2 , are #adults in the western world. They go to restaurants, clubs, bars,
football stadiums, concerts, and always without #FFP2 !

Because in the western world, wearing a #mask is seen as something bad and is accordingly badmouthed. It is conveyed how, for example, only very #anxious people would wear a mask. Or wearing a mask is exaggerated, after all
everything is #harmless and #mild. Practically just a #sniffle! (No, #RSV, #influenza + #corona #SARSCoV2 are not harmless #colds)!

So if you are looking for someone to #blame for the infection, you should pause for a moment and think about your own #behavior.

This is one of the most concerning examples of #SARS-CoV-2 persistence to date 👉 The team found SARS-CoV-2 RNA + Spike protein in the stool of 11/14 newborn babies born to mothers who had #COVID-19 resolve 10+ weeks before delivery: nature.com/articles/s4139…
2/ The team concludes that “the findings suggest in utero transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and possible persistent intestinal #viral reservoirs in the newborns”
3/ It is important to note that all newborns that harbored SARS-CoV-2 in stool were negative for the #virus via nasal PCR. The team also found that stool homogenates from all 14 newborns in the study elicited elevated inflammatory IL-6 + IFN-γ from macrophages

This important study found a significantly elevated frequency of #SARS-CoV-2-specific TNF-α-producing CD8+ T cells in patients with pulmonary #LongCovid (PASC). PASC subjects experienced an average symptom duration of over 6 months: journals.plos.org/plospathogens/…
2/ This is how the authors interpret the finding: "This increased frequency could be detected in response to peptide pools of all the #viral structural proteins in comparison to the resolved #COVID-19 (RC) cohort.
3/ Interestingly, these T cells were also significantly higher in female PASC participants compared to males, which may contribute to the higher prevalence of PASC in #women

High levels of an #infection in #Massachusetts is causing both gastrointestinal (#diarrhoea, #vomiting) & respiratory (#cough, #sinus, #headache) symptoms WITHOUT typical fever or runny nose - School children & parents/guardians across #boston suburbs affected for last 3 weeks.
Note the CDC data suggests very little SARS-CoV-2 (Omicron) or influenza (flu) at this time in Massachusetts or Connecticut or New Hampshire. So diagnostic tests being used are not catching this circulating pathogen, or a seasonal coronavirus/norovirus/adenovirus is the culprit
According to the data on SARS-CoV-2-positive PCR tests there is very low levels of COVID-19 over last 3 weeks in Massachusetts, CT, NH, RI & VT. Yet there are several #school #children, #teachers and #parents with gastrointestinal & respiratory #infection symptoms in these states Image

New @polybioRF podcast. I interviewed Dr. Tobias Lanz: MD + researcher in the lab of Prof. William Robinson at the Department of Rheumatology/Immunology at Stanford School of Medicine. Listen on Spotify (open.spotify.com/episode/4bTQss…) or watch on Youtube ()

It seems the fastest way to get covid is to get vaccinated.

If you have been vaccinated and were subsequently infected with covid, how many days after your jab did you test positive?
@timspector have you done any analysis of this nature on breakthrough infections via ZOE?

I want to put this study on everyone's radar b/c I think it's a genuinely cool opportunity for people/patients to get high-quality data on their #SARS-C0V-2 #immune status over time👇 (I have no financial ties to the company).
2/ To be more clear about what the study involves, the @serimmune team will assess each subjects’ individual immune response to SARS-CoV-2 from both natural #infection and #vaccination for up to 5 years.
3/ If you register for the study, Serimmune will send you a sample collection kit that allows you to collect your blood at home. Then you simply mail the sample to their lab using the pre-paid envelope provided.

There are 93 #recommendations made in the new publication. I don’t have time to write (or read) that kind of #Tweetorial and neither do you. That’s what the publication is for -> journals.lww.com/ccmjournal/Cit… !
