Let's play a game, shall we?

No, I am not attempting to make light of today's news.
But it feels like we're already screwed, so let me throw some wild theories out there.

Today was a 'test' for William Barr.
A test given by Robert Mueller.

For weeks, people have been speculating about whether Barr's loyalty is to Trump or to the American people. I have followed people who say he wrote his memo to get the job specifically as a ruse to get into position to protect Mueller. He was definitely a white hat. Trust him.

But his loyalty needed to be tested. The ultimate test.
Mueller gives him the 'report' making no final judgement ... punting, as others have said.
What will Barr do?

Now, we know.

From what I've heard today, it was/is not up to Barr to make that final decision. It MUST go to Congress. Democrats control the House of Representatives. They have subpoena power.

Do we have a democracy with checks and balances?

Or do we have an autocracy?

Interesting point from Ari Melber on @MSNBC: "This is 4 pages. There's not a single full sentence in here that's quoted the Mueller report. Every quote from the Mueller report itself is a partial sentence."

As stated earlier, what if this was a test?
What if Mueller thought/hoped that Barr would do the right thing (do what has been done before/precedent) & send his report to Congress? He's known Barr for years - thought he had integrity. But ... he wasn't sure. How could he be sure?

Mueller gives him his report. What will Barr do?
Surely he won't just cherry-pick short phrases that will suit his own agenda which is to protect this president?

Ahh, the deceit runs deep in this administration.

Now what?

I don't hold much faith in William Barr being forthcoming if he is asked to testify before Congress. He wasn't during his nomination.

Now what?

Will Robert Mueller be subpoenaed?

Will he tell us that William Barr completely mischaracterized his report?

Will he be allowed to testify? In open session?

I believe Robert Mueller is a man of impeccable honor and integrity.

We must hear directly from him.

Mr. Mueller, please tell us the truth. We feel like we have been gaslighted for 2 years. Please, sir.
