#1 Start Building an Emergency Fund

This should be your first priority. In case of emergencies, you shouldn't be left empty-handed.

Yes, I kept it at top because it's all about controlling your emotions.
Then comes the trading system which you will gradually build for yourself.

Trading is about finding what works for you and sticking to it no matter what.

2. #CashFlows -
It must be made sure that the income from trading per year on an average is more than what your current income is, plus it should cover cost of running business (office/net connection/paid subscriptions etc)

Recently, Dr. Shiller suggested that #valuations really aren't that high once you fall in the #Fed trap of using #earnings #yields and #low #rates to justify it. The problem is it is a #rationalization to justify overpaying for #assets.

The main problem in using low-interest rates as a rationalization to overpay for assets is that you have to also discount #future #cashflows for lower inflation and rates as well.
realinvestmentadvice.com/shiller-ecy-ju…
"As low-interest rates went lower, the dynamic changed from using debt productively to using debt for non-productive purposes such as dividend issuance, share buybacks, and, in some cases, offsetting negative cash flows."

#CashFlows: In one company, the CEO was exhorting the executives to focus on cash flow and it became ad nauseam. Again one of those meetings were called and when the CFO spoke about cash flow, another senior said:
"Since you are so particular about Cash Flows, you don't seem to realize that business takes time to fructify and into cash flows. But since your focus is on Cash flows, I have an idea, that can be implemented with little capex, which no one has done and will generate cash flow"
CEO was excited. He said, "What is it? Tell me more!!"

The senior responded, "Why don't we open a series of brothels? We can rent it and invest in human resources!! And you will get your cashflow quickly"

Needless to add, the meeting ended abruptly with lot of red faces

As we’ve argued many times in the past, the #CashFlows generated by today’s #economy are accruing to fewer and fewer corporate players, which is why it’s not surprising that the top 5 companies in the $SPX by market cap comprise nearly 21% of the index total.
And contrary to the many commentaries speculating on the hypothetical differences between pre- and post- #Covid #economies, we’re fairly certain that this is a trend that’s likely to accelerate. Especially when the @Nasdaq just added the equivalent of two Russell 2000s this year!
Revenues, cash flows and ultimately #market #capital flows are in motion at an astounding speed, as #investors attempt to distinguish between winners/losers in sectors, industries and individual companies: that amazing structural evolution is key to #investment success today.

A little SMEs story. Did work for a client, was meant to be paid COD, they didn't. The usual "signatories not available" story. This was Thurs last week. I call on Monday, am told "payment has been processed" but it wasn't. then came the silence -no replies to e-mails/phone calls
I call using my other number (Coz you need to be on 3 major networks). They answer.
Am told "We'll pay you" in a rude tone."
Me "When?"
Them "it's not a lot of money, why are you stressing"
Me "Because to me it is a lot!"
Wish corporates knew how every cent counts #Cashflows
If u try 2access their services w/out payment/an agreement, it won't happen, u'll be told to come back "when u're ready". I don't have issues working on 7-30 day credit if it's agreed prior. This changing of T's & C's after is unfair. Wondering how many SME's have the same issue
