Why Investing in Companies with Peak Profit Margins Requires Caution 📉⛔️

👇👇👇 Image
1/7: #Investing in companies at peak profit margins can be risky. As #companies reach their maximum profitability, a phenomenon known as mean reversion often occurs. This means that profit margins tend to revert back to their long-term average levels over time.
2/7: Mean reversion suggests that high profit margins may not be sustainable in the long run. As margins normalize or decrease, it can lead to potential declines in the company's stock price. So, exercise caution when considering such #investment’s

Hey everyone, let's talk about economic calendars! An #economiccalendar is a tool that helps traders and investors keep track of important financial events and data releases. 1/n Image
This includes things like central bank meetings, #GDP reports, and #employment figures. By knowing when these events are happening, you can make informed decisions about your investments.
2/n
Most economic calendars also provide information on the expected impact of each event. This can help you gauge how markets are likely to react to certain news. I loved the way @Investingcom explains the impact.

There’s a person who has a respectable corporate job, decent earnings, nice family & some good savings kitty parked in FD which he wants to invest in equities now. But he's lacking in financial knowledge & has no time for market research.
Then there’s a full-time trader. All his working hours are dedicated to equity market research, trading & investing. He daily monitors the market, news flow & has good technical & fundamental know how.
Are these two same kinds of investor?

Should they have the same investing behaviour?

Will the style of investment be same for them?

NO, obviously!

Did you know there's a measurement that can predict whether a business will go bankrupt or not in the next 2 years?

It's called Altman’s Z-score Model.

The lower the Z-score, the higher the odds that a company is heading for bankruptcy.

A Z-score that is lower than 1.8 means
that the company is in financial distress and has a high probability of bankrupcy.

A score of 3 and over means the company is in a safe zone and is unlikely to file.

A score between 1.8 & 3 means the company is in a grey area and with a moderate chance of filing for bankruptcy.
Confusing but here's the formula👇

ζ = 1.2A + 1.4B + 3.3C + 0.6D + 1.0E

A quick thread on Diversification.

Diversification is a strategy allowing investors to manage risk by spreading their money across different investments.

Investors should have some money allocated to safety assets like cash and bonds in addition to riskier assets like stocks.
Any investor looking for a quick and easy way to help manage risk and potentially boost returns on their portfolio, should take a moment to consider how diversification could work in their portfolio.
Even a fairly aggressive investor likely should still have some cash on the side, whether that's for short-term spending or emergencies, or to deploy for investing in the future.

Likewise, when it comes to one's stock holdings, how well diversified is the portfolio?

A quick thread on Asset Allocation

Asset Allocation is an essential component of anyone's investment journey!

Fancy translation; asset allocation is the breakdown of different investments in the categories known as asset classes. Stocks, bonds, cash are different asset classes.
Within each asset class, there are more breakdowns that categorize each investment like market capitalization, sectors, geographical locations etc. etc.

But in practicality, asset allocation is to diversify depending on an investor's risk tolerance.
Each asset class has anticipated risk and return based on historical averages.

Based on how much risk an investor is willing to take, a portfolio can be broken down within several categories to provide diversification and balance.

🧵 Setting yourself up for success in #crypto. CT would have you believe everyone is a millionaire all in on up only low caps. This is far from the truth - most are #ngmi due to poor portfolio management. Here's some tips.

#DeFi #Ethereum #Avalanche #Cronos #Metis #Cosmos 1/13
🖊️ Plan your strategy, and stick to it. This will depend on your starting bankroll, e.g. smaller size may need to take more risk, larger size can be more conservative. Learn risk management and your risk appetite. Broadly stick to your plan and stay in the game. 2/13
📓 Record and track everything (examples below). When executing your plan record data and notes. Of course you can flex the plan when you see certain things are working and other aren't. You do need to be adaptable in #cryptomarkets but don't mindlessly jump around. 3/13

Quick thread on understanding buybacks.

1) Why is it done:
If a company is cash rich and has no foreseeable deployment opportunity in its own business it can go for big dividends or use that money to buy back its own shares (1/8)
#InfosysBuyback
#InfosysQ4
2) How does buyback help:
When a company purchases its own shares, its outstanding free float in the market reduces. So just assume if a company had 100 shares in the market and it takes back 10 from the market, the available base is now only 90 shares. (2/8)
#investing
#BuyBack
3) How does reduced equity base help:
Suddenly all the key ratios of the company will start looking better. EPS (Earnings/Outstanding shares) will rise as the denominator will decrease. PE (Price/EPS) ratio will look more attractive as the EPS no increases

My CCI based investment strategy - How does it work? A thread.
Objective: Identify stocks that are entering a phase of momentum on the upside and ride the stock until momentum weakens.1/n
About CCI: CCI is a momentum-based oscillator and a value above 100 indicates the price is well above the historic average and a value below -100 indicates the price is well below the historic average. 2/n
Strategy: This strategy will enter a stock when CCI on the weekly timeframe is greater than 100 & is overbought & exit when CCI on the weekly timeframe is below -100 & is oversold. Does that sound straightforward? Yes, simple and straightforward strategies can make money 3/n
