Many consider the 1980's as the golden age of Tamil cinema because of some of it's greatest filmmakers like KB, #Bharathiraja, #BaluMahendra, #Mahendran etc arguably making their career best films in that period
I'll admit this decade of #Kollywood was off to a bit of a rocky start in 2020 vis a vis the pandemic with only few films even getting released but below are the filmmakers that I think will do their career best in this decade make it a great one for Tamil cinema! :

#BREAKING: #MadrasHighCourt grants stay of single-judge order wherein adverse remarks were made against Kollywood actor Vijay and wherein Rs 1 lakh costs were imposed over his 2012 plea to restrain payment of entry tax for imported Rolls Royce car.

Stay order was granted by #MadrasHighCourt Division Bench after taking on record submission by Vijay's counsel that the actor is willing to pay remaining 80% of entry tax within a week after demand is raised by authority.

In his appeal, grievance raised by Vijay is wrt adverse comments made by Single Judge, imposition of costs. HC was told that:
1. No such observations were made in other similar cases
2. No such observations were made in open court and that they were only added to written judgment

#ThalapathyVijay has been targeted unfairly once again. He paid Life Time Tax & Import Duty for his Rolls Royce car in 2012. After paying all the taxes, he visited RTO to register his car, where he was asked to get a certificate from the IT commissioner. #WeSupportThalapathyVijay
When Thalapathy visited the IT department, he was told that he didn't have to pay Entry Tax. But the assistant commissioner for the Chennai circle told him that Entry Tax was required.
Since #Vijay was confused, he moved the Madras High Court to have clarity and filed a writ petition challenging Entry Tax.
The case was moved to the pending list by the court for NINE YEARS. It's not Vijay who is the reason for the nine years delay.

I never thought I will tell this for a #Vijay-#Atlee movie, but I ended up liking #Bigil. One of the main reasons is the characterization of Rayappan ( older Vijay) and how Vijay approaches this role. (1)
In the best scene in #Bigil, Rayappan tries to convince Sharma(Jackie Shroff) to pick his son for the football team and explains how a son doesn't have to suffer for his father's doing. Atlee has a tendency to go overboard at time. But there was a subtlness and restraint here.(2)
Vijay on the other hand shines in perhaps his first really different role that he has done in a long while, bringing in variations in both body language and mannerisms. Atlee's writing once again takes inspirations from lot of movies, but there is an improvement this time (3)
