🔴Thread: Future of India-China Standoff

Chief of Army Staff General #ManojPande said that the border with China requires constant, close monitoring as it could lead to a broader conflict. On March 27, the Army Chief gave a speech at the second Strategic Dialogue on...
...‘Rise of China and its Implications for the World’, organised by Savitribai Phule Pune University and the #NewDelhi based Centre for China Analysis and Strategy. He further said that “I think the most important aspect of our operational environment remains... #indiavschina
...our legacy challenges of the unsettled and disputed borders. Pockets of dispute and contested claims to the territory continue to exist due to differing perceptions of the alignment of the #LAC . Transgressions remain the potential trigger for escalations.”

Pls read complete thread. 🙏
This misleading report which claims India lost access to 26 PATROLLING POINTS along #LAC will hurt Indian PM #Modi a lot more than #BBC PROPAGANDA.

Everyone who read it, believed it‼️
Theres no way to VERIFY THIS.👎

Here’s the reality:
2/6 The report is made believable by including the name of the #IPS officer who claims 26 patrolling points hv restricted or no patrolling. Its so BELIEVABLE that anyone who reads it will believe it. 👎Most MEDIA house published it with same title— NDTV,Hindu, Indian Express 👇
3/5 What is the reality❓
1️⃣ There are many ppl in Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Defence who love generating CONTROVERSIES‼️

“Sarkar Modi ki hai par system hamara hai”.

As a veteran told me— lot of #LeLis exist in MHA & MoD. But issue doesn’t end there.

Fun fact: Jinping wanted to flaunt Jun, 2017 Doklam at 19th Congress in Oct, 2017. India flopped that plan😜

Listen to @AmbVPrakash on the challenge posed by peddlers of Chinese agenda in #India.
Indian democracy used against India as #China uses PsyOps.
Should Govt respond? Nip it in the bud?
From
#Doklam to #Galwan India must counter Chinese mind games asap.
Important to beware!!!

China uses local laws, pressure groups (brainwashed &/or paid?), 'democratic institutions' to its advantage.
China failed in #Doklam. China has not succeeded in eastern #Ladakh to brow beat us.

INDIA 🇮🇳 MUST STAND UNITED TO DEFEAT CHINA's 🇨🇳 EVIL AGENDA.
India 🇮🇳 did QPQ Operations dominating China's Moldo garrison forcing China to withdraw from certain friction points. There are other aces up India's sleeve forcing China to build rapidly & construct a bridge on PangongTso (Aksai Chin is Indian territory too) #India should object

They (China) are becoming more n more aggressive and we share land borders with them. Its time for us to start looking at our strategies as to how we are going to deal with the two borders... aggressive adversaries, Pak on Western front & China on the North: CDS Gen Bipin Rawat
We need to also start looking at transformation for the betterment and ensuring the national security architecture that we want to evolve is capable of handling the threats that are emerging. To do this we need jointmanship amongst all the security forces: Gen Rawat at @iicdelhi

New #Blog «#FiscalPolicy to drive the recovery in #LatinAmerica: the “when” and “how” are key» @voxlacea @OECD_Centre
For fiscal policy to be effective it needs a well-defined sequencing of actions and to be backed by consensus
➡️ vox.lacea.org/?q=blog/fiscal…
Here the thread 🧵:
The political economy of fiscal policy is more important than ever and country-specific characteristics calls for a tailored approach. However, some overarching considerations can help countries in #LAC get their “policy menu” between public spending, tax policy and public debt. ImageImageImage
- Moving towards the expansion of well-targeted social exp. with long-term economic effects
- More and better capital exp. to close the infra. needs incl. digital+green
- Innovative fiscal frameworks incl. fiscal rules to ensure fiscal sustainability with adequate escape clauses Image

COAS on #China at @vifindia: At strategic level the advice given by NSA has also come in extremely handy. We were all in it together on political, diplomatic & military levels. It's a very good end result, it's a win win situation. At the end of the day we have achieved a lot 1/3

As India and China are in the midst of a drawdown in Ladakh , I summarize key information gleaned from a Chinese website

The PLA is digging in for winter and the current withdrawals are only "return to nodes" from where they can redeploy at a short notice
#LAC
The conditions for the PLA soldiers on the ground have been anything but easy.

Death and injuries due to exposure ,

HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema )

and

HACE (High Altitude Cerebral Edema)

My theory is that this is exacerbated due to smoking addiction in the PLA.
The PLA winter stocking is an ongoing process due to better road and rail infra.

However soldiers seem to have received specialised winter equipment recently.

They have stocked special meals for the Chinese New Year which indicates a long term deployment.

India China ongoing stand off thread

Remember I mentioned I make a thread on it so here it is. I am going to make it simple clear & not too much of detail. Every info you need is already out there so this is just a collation of already established facts

Start
First thing India always demonstrated a Pak centric defense strategy which is extremely low bar and by virtue of that itself it gives Pak an upper hand. China is different matter all together. The Communist China & India were military equals in 1990 but then a major war in Gulf
Many people don't know under Sadam Hussein 1990 Iraq had one of Asia's most formidable Military forces

Its army 1 million men strong, 700 Fighter Jets including Mig 29, 35 & 4500 Tanks and almost 300 Helicopter with relatively advanced Air Defense all well trianed battle hard

India needs to get over ‘Line Thinking’ as far as #PLA deployment is concerned. While decision makers squabble over which line is the true #LAC as per Indian version, we forget that we aren’t the only claimant in this. Chinese have and will continue to enforce their versions ..
upon us. And we can’t keep crying wolf without acting on it.
As evident from this representation by @detresfa_ , the Chinese have decided to claim and consolidate the 1960 claim line which they reached till in 1962. India has categorically denied these claims but these.. Image
deployments prove that China is simply doing what it wants to.
Since they’ve decided to take 1960 line as the new LAC ( except one position ahead near Burtse in #Depsang ), India is left with two choices to counter this expansionism.
1. Fight them and push them back
2. Agree.. Image

What has #China gained so far?

1. Paranoid 🇮🇳 top brass/policy makers who will focus more inland ($$) than maritime i.e. CDS/Map lovers
2. Pulse check on #QUAD & #US reaction
3. Foundation stone of double squeeze #LOC~#LAC
4. Strengthening of newly raised #PLA Western Theatre.
China’s mission is to break both island chains by 2030-35 by massive build up of Naval & Air powers. Already artificial islands are there & no one can do anything other than odd USN vessels with flag conducting freedom of navigation. None of US allies want war nor have stomach Image
All countries in Pacific rely on same geography that they want to turn against China. Its kind of self defeating to cage a dragon while you’re in it. I’m not even bringing economical angle to this and what will happen to beast of capitalism, #Covid has set the tone for 2020s :)
