Why I Chose To Start Up Kuroiler chicken Farming- In 2023.

The Kuroiler breed of chicken is a dual-purpose bird that is used for meat and eggs. It was created in the state of Andhra Pradesh in South India through selective breeding of the Rhodes Island Red rooster and... Image
the White Leghorn chicken. Kegg Farms in India was the first to develop this breed and Kuroiler was first established in Uganda.

So i chose this kind of breed after a doing good research among my community farmers and realised it could help accumulate me profits .
It is imperative that you source your Kuroiler chicken from a reputable Kuroiler supplier. The reason for this is that you get either F1 or F2. Kuroiler F1 is the closest to the parent stock, while Kuroiler F2 is bred from the F1 stock. The closer to the parent stock, the better

#Influenza virus has a segmented genome, which means that exchange of viral segments between one or more influenza virus subtypes—#reassortment—is possible, and can contribute to a shift in virulence and adaptation to new hosts. (1/3)
This study in @nature shows that reassortment events in #influenza virus #H9N2, which is widely circulating in #poultry populations worldwide and has the ability to infect #humans, can lead to novel reassortant viruses with variable phenotypic traits. (2/3)
This warrants the continuous monitoring of #influenza #H9N2 and co-circulating subtypes in avian hosts. (3/3)

One month ago, the Norwegian fishing ministry shot #FreyatheWalrus dead, leading to media coverage saying she was “euthanized.”

Today, we look at four euphemistic terms used by industries that profit from #animal death and at outlets repeating this lingo without scrutiny. 1/10
Outlets like @guardian, @euronews, @CNN and @NPR were among many that used the word “euthanized” to describe Freya’s death.

A rare exception, which did not repeat the language used by the #fishing ministry, was a piece by @jasondhorowitz at @nytimes. 2/10

Animal #euthanasia is supposed to be an act that reduces suffering, says veterinarian @iltaylorwriter.

Freya was neither ill nor suffering. She was shot because Norway’s #fishing ministry @fiskeridir declared relocation “not a viable option.” 3/10

1/ Worldwide, a #poultry-origin disease is causing high mortality in wild birds. The disease is called highly pathogenic avian #influenza (#HPAI). It is important to record the scale of wild bird mortality in order to help prevent such disasters in the future. Here is a thread.
2/ In general, HPAI viruses emerge in intensive poultry production systems by mutation from relatively innocent viruses (aptly called ‘low pathogenic avian influenza viruses). Of 39 known HPAI mutation events detected, 37 are from such poultry farms.
3/ The cause of the current wild bird mortality is the descendant of a HPAI virus that emerged in a commercial farm of domestic geese in Guangdong, China, in 1996. The virus spread widely across poultry farms in Asia, and then spilled over into wild waterbirds.

THREAD - What happened at the Huanan #seafood market?

The @WHO report is quite clear on this point: #SARSCoV2 might have jumped from a wild animal sold in this market and maybe other markets in #Wuhan. But what do we know exactly? 1/15

#originsofSARSCoV2 Image
After all this time, the Huanan seafood market still remains the main suspect for a simple reason: most of the early cases had visited at least one market in Wuhan city, and several of them visited the Huanan market. 2/15 Image
According to the report, 10,000 people visited this place every day, making it a perfect setting for an #outbreak. One might argue: what about the cases without market exposure? Good question! 3/15

How #CoronavirusOutbreak will kill #poultry #Haryana

The #eggs used to sell for Rs 5/piece in winters & between Rs 3.25 to 4 in summers. Now, prices of eggs have fallen to Rs 2.90/unit and there were no takers for culling worthy birds even for a price as low as Rs 10-12
#Farmers used to buy a day-old broiler chick from the hatcheries for Rs 40-45. After feeding the chick for a month, a full-grown broiler(1.5 kg), fetched a price of Rs 80/kg

However, with a steep fall in the demand, now #chicken, broilers are not fetching more than Rs 25 per kg.
#Hatchery #farmers are equally distressed since their one-day-old broiler that costs Rs 20-25 and was selling for Rs 40-45 earlier, is not finding a customer even for Rs 3.

Poultry was already reeling due to a hike in the prices of feed, but now, their situation is precarious.😟

Farmers face the biggest Brexit hit and still they don’t think they need to worry! THREAD
In a grim report published on Friday, the #government Agricultural, Horticultural and Development Board @TheAHDB predicted that post-Brexit #farming incomes would fall by 25%. @FarmingUK /1
This wasn’t just in an apocalyptic #NoDeal scenario. If it was, farmers seeing this figure could mutter Project Fear and carry on their arduous work. The problem is that this collapse occurs IN ANY BREXIT SCENARIO @bbcfarmingtoday. /2
It is no exaggeration that entire enterprises, for example poultry production, could be unviable if the AHDB predictions are correct as @RCorbettMEP notes. This is a problem because, in Shropshire @BBCShropshire poultry accounts for 86% of all cattle and livestock. /3
