PSA to anyone in FL experiencing a miscarriage:
@Publix is NOT a safe place for your misoprostol prescription if you elect for medical management of your miscarriage.

1/
They will delay your care and refuse to fill your prescription until they can “clarify” the indication for your prescription even when it clearly states the diagnosis is a “spontaneous abortion,” which, by definition, is a miscarriage.

2/
Apparently, pharmacists were directed by @Publix administration to clarify all prescriptions that have the term “abortion” in them even if it already specifies “spontaneous,” and they will read you the fucking FL statute over the phone.

For over a quarter of a century, terms such as “#reproductiverights” and “sexual and #reproductivehealth” have appeared in dozens—perhaps hundreds—of UN resolutions, despite remaining controversial due to their inextricable linkage to the issue of abortion.
In recent years, another term, “#reproductivejustice,” has started to appear, not in negotiated resolutions, but in reports generated by UN agencies like the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). c-fam.org/definitions/wh… via @FridayFax
"minority women in the U.S., particularly those who are poor, have historically been targeted by eugenics advocates, through forced sterilizations or... through the aggressive promotion of long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods, some with serious health risks."

We are so PUMPED to be back at House Judiciary committee to hear HB23-1187 Alternative Sentencing for Pregnant People #copolitics

HB23-1187 will ensure that #pregnant people have the opportunity to #alternative sentencing 🔥

@S2SSisters @elephant_circle
We know that pregnancy is contraindicated towards a #healthy pregnancy & being incarcerated while pregnant is harmful to both the pregnant person and the child - #reproductivejustice is what we are fighting for today #copolitics @elephant_circle @S2SSisters
Correctional facilities are not mandated to track or report pregnancy-related data & most facilities do not have any routine process for collecting such information - another reason why we are saying YES on HB23-1187 #copolitics #leadership #reproductivehealth

Okay, listening into the #RHEA the Reproductive Health Equity Act testimony, and listening to folks that haven’t given birth or could have opinions about #reproductivehealth is just always disappointing and unnecessary.
This guy on this panel basically said “why does birth need to constitute a human right”, um, sir, what in the what? LIVING HUMANS don’t have human rights yet.
All this commentary coming to you is really actually inspired by @Justa_Jus ‘s incredible commentary 🤣

Peak Twitter. Woman w/ stage 4 #endometriosis, #fibroids, latter condition more common in WOC, post 2 gyn surgeries

identifies online #womenshealth #vaccine #survey as poor #data #quality

instead of improving, response ~ "not to attack... but am glad you are not my doctor"
Indeed, I engage patients & families 1:1 without forcing them into fields I've pre-created for my #data collection, based on assumptions I have from personal experience

Respecting women & WOC allows people to not be forced into leading questions or pre-created fields
Measuring needs to be #quality to deliver quality. Your #results will never be better than your #studydesign or collection methods. Wrote this cuz we need less measurement & more humanity. I'm in b-school & everyone sends a new survey every 30 sec..

Now that @Guttmacher and @hrp's incredible paper on unintended pregnancy and abortion worldwide is out, let's talk about the #data!

First, about 121 million unintended pregnancies occur each year. Of these 61% (73 million) ended in abortion.
guttmacher.org/fact-sheet/ind…
Clearly, unintended pregnancy and abortion are #reproductivehealth experiences shared by many people around the world, irrespective of country income level, region or the legal status of abortion.

A thread 🚨 on #Contraceptives and #Family planning:
Many types of contraception available to try to best cater to everyones needs and specific wants:
- hormonal vs non hormonal
- long acting (5-10 years) and short acting (days - months)
#ReproductiveHealth
The hormonals are
- OCPs: the pill, taken daily in order to be effective
- DepoProvera: a progestin injection administered 3 monthly
- Jadelle: an implant in your upper arm which works for 5 years
- Mirena: a device which is placed in your uterus and lasts for 5 years
Hormonals available FOC at Govt health facilities are OCPs, Depo and Jadelle. Mirena's can be purchased from some local private pharmacies.
Side effects of hormonal contraceptives include:
Rashes, headaches, changes in appetite (not weight gain), altered menstrual flow, nausea

We're live RIGHT NOW with #KamalaHarris. Tune in now to watch the Senator answer questions directly from the women of the Supermajority community here:
On breaking barriers: "You don't start on one side and end up on the other. There is breaking involved. When you break things, it can be painful...It will be worth it every single time, but it is not without pain, hard work, and great effort." — @KamalaHarris #theMajorityRules
@KamalaHarris What is @KamalaHarris' superpower?

"One of the greatest powers that each of us has, and it's a matter of whether or not we see it or identify it for what it is, is to lift each other up. Women do that so well." #theMajorityRules

To our reproductive health care clients: If you’ve heard about the recent changes to the #TitleX program – the national program that provides funding for family planning and other #ReproductiveHealth care services – we want you to know that your benefits have NOT changed.
Although the new federal regulations impose some conditions that #Oregon cannot comply with because doing so would violate state law, we have asked for a temporary status that would allow us to stay in the program without using any of its funds. #TitleX
We remain committed to ensuring continued funding for comprehensive, high-quality reproductive health care. Anyone seeking care at the Reproductive Health Program’s clinics will continue to receive the same high-quality, client-centered services that have always been available.

Hi all! We’ve gotten an increase in followers with everything going on in the fight for #reproductivejustice lately so we figured we would make a thread explaining who we are, the work that we do, why it’s all so important, and what YOU can do to help! #FundAbortionBuildPower
When folks say abortion funds aren’t new to abortion bans and anti-choice laws they’re right. CAF has been around for OVER 30 YEARS and we aren’t the only abortion fund either! Check out @AbortionFunds to see a list of our sister funds across the country that help to #fighttheban
For over 30 years, we have provided financial, logistical, and emotional support to folks needing assistance paying for an abortion. We boldly affirm a person's right to choose whether to parent or not and that right should not be determined bc of age, race, economic status, etc.
